Josh Sutherland is a Director in the Audit and Assurance Practice at Clearview Group. With over 25 years of experience in public accounting and industry, Josh can quickly identify areas of opportunity and risk while leading quality engagement teams. Josh specializes in financial statement audits and reviews, further focusing on non-profits, including those with significant expenditures of federal funds, and employee benefit plans. Additionally, he has provided accounting, assurance, and consulting services to government contractors and other industries, including due diligence, overhead audits, and outsourced accounting.
Before joining Clearview Group, Josh spent approximately seven years as the CFO of two large non-profit organizations in the Baltimore area, developing true operational and financial expertise for federal, state, local, and foundation grants, fundraising, and other areas of strategic importance, including personnel and benefits, banking and lending, grant writing, budgeting, compliance, investment management, risk management, DEI leadership, IT, and facilities. He led several accounting system implementation projects and is well-versed in internal controls and procedures for accounting and finance teams.
Josh is a member of the Maryland Association of Public Accountants and is active in various roles with several charitable organizations.
Josh attended Loyola University Maryland, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
